Monday, 11/30 Alyssa Merlin,1 Post Civil War For the first half of class we went over richest men over the course of the years, and talked about Rockefeller and Carnegie. The latter half of class was spent finishing the "Cities" video we began last Tuesday. Partial Annotated Bibliography due tomorrow (12/1) for History Fair
Tuesday 12/1/15 Kiley Thomas Age of Transformation In class today we got back our notebooks and set them up for the next unit. The name for this unit is: Age of Transformation(aka The gilded age) 1860s-1900. The test date for this unit will be December 14th. We talked in class today about the West and the Native Americans. We were handed back our sources worksheets for history fair. History fair sources were electronically due today. For Extra Credit: 12/3 turn in rough draft of Mural
Wednesday- 12/2/15 Caston Shields,1 Age of Transformation Today we started notes on "Robber Barons or Captains of Industry." This should be on page 4 or 6 depending on how long your notes for the last frontier were. Due tomorrow(Thursday, 12/3): mural draft for extra credit.
Friday 12/4/15 Kiley Thomas, 1 Age of transformation- Carnegie hero Today we finished discussing the hero activity we did yesterday. We concluded that a hero needs to have the qualities of courage, integrity, and a concern for others. History fair mural due 12/10
Thursday 12/3/15 Caston Shields, 1 Age of Transformation Due today: Rough draft of mural for extra credit. (No late acceptions) "Was Andrew Carnegie a Hero?" Activity in which we defined a hero, wrote two people down for each of 8 characteristics, and chose three of those characteristics that we believed would be necessary to a hero. Due soon: on Thursday, December 10- Final mural due
