Monday, 10/5. B. Nieto, 1. Slavery in America. No work collected. No material distributed. What we did in class is work with our spectrum on perspectives on slavery partner and presented are person we were assign and discussed were we thought they should be on a line from anti-slavery to pro-slavery. After we all gave our thoughts, Ms. McCarron put the order she thought was correct. An a announcement was made that we will have a test that will cover everything we have learned, but the date was not given.
Tuesday 10/6. B. Nieto, 1. Slavery in America. At the end of class we were given "Lincoln in Context" and will finish it in class tomorrow. We were given back all our map quizzes that we have taken and we stapled those together. We were also handed back our History Fair Brainstorming that was already due last Thursday. As a class we discussed some topics on the History Fair from the sample topic list that was already given last week. An important day to know is this Thursday is when our History Fair 2nd topic worksheet is due and we tapped the rubrics to our desk.
Wednesday 10/7/15. Z. Scoles, 1. Perspectives on Slavery No Work Collected We worked on a worksheet that deals with the two different sides of slavery debates: Pro-slavery and Anti-slave. On this worksheet we stated who were on each side, what their beliefs were, what actions did they take, and what events occurred for each side. We then discussed our answers with our partners and then had a class discussion about them. Tomorrow, 10/8, We have a "States Test" over all 50 states. Friday, 10/9, History Fair Assignment #2 is due. This is where you select one topic and answer the questions about it and how it relates to this year's theme.
Thursday 10/8/15 Z. Scoles, 1. States' Rights No Work Collected We took the "States Test" on all 50 states. Then we worked on a table about important events and issues involving the government. Friday 10/9/15 Caston Shields, 1. History Fair Worksheet #2 Collected. We finished working on the States' Rights worksheet using pages 128 and 129 in the textbook. We discussed how to do this with the class. Then, we went over how to organize our notebook and where to put all the handouts. Then, we took notes from a lecture.
Sunday, 10/11/15. Caston Shields, 1. Coming up this week will be a unit test on the Constitution and slavery so study for that. Also, prepare your notebooks to turn in on that day. End of the nine weeks is coming up this week so make sure you have all work turned in and all make ups done.
